David is critiquing a photograph that I've just printed in the darkroom at the Photographer's Formulary in Condon Montana. David was co-instructing a workshop in Black & White photography with Al Weber and was wearing his ever present darkroom towel. We had caravanned to Montana from Al's Victor School in Victor Colorado in the summer of 2004. The photograph of David and me was taken by Tony Mournian
...we had been working for several days on sorting David's archive for a tax evaluation for the estate. We had been looking at so many photographs I think we were both worn out and getting a little silly. Marie is a certified photo appraiser for tax reporting purposes. The short time we spent together was a joyful learning experience for me.

In November 2013 I got a call from a Connecticut State Trooper that David had passed away at his home in Bethlehem CT. That call stated me on a journey that would prove to be more of a learning experience than I could ever imagine.
